The following began when my children were much smaller. (Think 3 and 4)
“MOOOOooooooooo-ooooom!”
“That’s not my name.”
“It’s not?”
“No, it’s Mrs. McGillicuddy.”
Most of the time by the time I reminded them about Mrs. McGillicuddy they’d forgotten what they were going to whine about and it made us smile. Even better was when I refused to even answer to that long drawn-out extended call of Mo-om. I would just say “Who?” and they would change it to “Mrs. McGillicuddy”. And they simply didn’t want to take time to try and do the same thing with Mrs. McGillicuddy. So, thank you, Lucy McGillicuddy Ricardo. I hope you don’t mind me borrowing your maiden name.
